Our summer road tour has hit Boston and Dallas, so far.
Next stop: Sunny Los Angeles.
Despite $4.00-a-gallon gas, we are criss-crossing the nation. And we do it all for you.
The fans.
Because without you, we’d be nothing.
Melodrama aside (we’re not actually driving this road trip… gas IS $4.00 a gallon) - we’re very much looking forward to spending a morning with you. The folks in the trenches. The folks on the front line of content management.
This complimentary breakfast event will feature concrete examples of Alfresco, being used by prominent enterprises, to solve real business problems.
Some highlights:
- Discuss how the current economic climate is leading more businesses than ever to open source. (And hear what Forrester Research said about the challenges still faced by enterprise adopters.)
- Learn why your business needs an alternative to proprietary ECM like SharePoint, Documentum, Interwoven & Vignette. (And how you’ll be a hero by slashing your I.T. costs.)
- Find out how Alfresco has saved millions of dollars for major enterprises. (And how it can lower your costs while simplifying your architecture.)
- Steal this list: The 9 requirements you MUST define before starting an ECM project. (To have a prayer of succeeding.)
- Discover the 10 most common mistakes made by new Alfresco Admins. (and how to avoid them.)
- Pick up the 7 short-cuts that every Alfresco admin should know, to skyrocket their productivity!
- Unravel the 12 ways to get the most out of Alfresco.
Jeff Potts of Optaros, and Emil Loreto of Acquity Group, will be joining us to review the latest approaches on successful ECM implementation.

Law. Religion. Medicine. The Economy. Politics.
And a couple of other interesting (and somewhat sarcastic) options. All are part of this Slashdot poll.
On the face of it is seems like a harmless, casual question. But in thinking about these various facets of society, and knowing what we know about the benefits of organized collaboration… we might very well want to take another look at the application of open source thinking, beyond technology.
So which of these realms could most benefit from the Wisdom of Crowds?
The leading option may surprise you.

It’s almost summertime.
And despite $4.00/gallon gasoline, it’s the perfect time for a road trip. Yes, Alfresco is going on the road. It’s titled “The Open Source ECM in Action Summer Road Trip” (or TOSECMIASR, for the acronym-inclined).
Coming off of a monster event in Alberta, Canada, hosted by our partner OA Solutions (Hi, Michael Peckham), we’ll be in Boston for the Red Hat Summit . June 18 - 20. Our CMO, Dr. Ian Howells, will be sharing the Open Source Barometer with the huge audience at the Summit.
But first… (drum-roll.)
We’re having a “Pre-Summit” event on June 17th! Yes - a pre-party!
At 3pm on June 17th, we’ll have a technical “Open Source ECM in Action” event. Right before the Summit kicks off… and right next door.
Not only will we have:
- Dr. Yong Qu, Alfresco Director of Solutions Engineering giving the details on Alfresco’s technology DNA, and
- Mike Vertal, CEO of Rivet Logic (2006 Alfresco Partner of the Year, 2008 jBoss Innovation Award) talking jBoss Seam integration,
But we’ll even have:
It’s a summer of Open Source. Hitch a ride or get left aside.
Details and registration for the Boston event here.
Next city to be announced shortly. See you in Boston.
And for the sports fans… BEAT L.A.!!!
