Getting Ready for Episode 2…

June 30th, 2006

I’ve got two guests tentatively lined up, so it looks like we’re on track to record the next “Fresh Talk” episode next week.

What I would appreciate is some feedback of what guests and topics I should pursue in the future along with any feedback relating to the show itself.

I’m working on improving the overall “technical” aspects of the show (sound quality, format, etc.) as well trying to work on my “radio voice”, basically eliminate needless verbal pauses, tone down my rate of speech, and speak more clearly.

If you have any thoughts you’d like to share, simply add a comment to this blog or send me an email.

    Hello All,

Our podcast was performed the day after our release, at that point I had been awake for nearly 24 hours. Some advice for pod-casters .. don’t do an interview on no sleep, its impossible to think :)

That said, Podcasting with these guys was a first for me and it was a lot of fun. These are two people I have a lot of respect for.

Because I couldn’t answer all of Luis’ questions during the pod cast I have prepared a postmortem. I stuck to the technical issues here. There could be an entire document dedicated to what we learned from an organizational perspective — something we are still parsing.

If you are interested in the technical postmortem, check here:

I had to take the document down for the moment, I will post again when it is available. Stay tuned.

I just listened to the podcast and found it very interesting! A little lengthy, but it’s great to hear the voice of names one sees associated with these great projects like LifeRay and Alfresco, that I think are really making a difference in the sw development world. Having these projects available as open source allows many more solutions to exist and solve problems than if everything had to be paid up front, only to then see if the enterprise is succesful.

Thank you so much for the feedback. We’ll work diligently on smoothing out flow of the podcast and come up with even more interesting topics.

    Please keep it coming!

I thought the podcast was good and informative. I know editing the audio to get a better quality can be a bit odd and time consuming. I use Audacity, http://audacity.sourceforge.net/, it’s GPL.

Thanks so much for the feedback… I too use Audacity, but have posted a new blog entry describing my complete setup.
