Having finished 2012 with a record quarter and two of the biggest deals in Alfresco’s history, the team has done a great job building a strong foundation for the future. Today marks another significant milestone in Alfresco’s history. As one of the largest content management and open source companies in the world, I made the choice that Alfresco needed a US-based leader with enterprise cloud experience to position the company for dramatic cloud growth and a future US IPO.
Today I am excited to welcome Doug Dennerline, an experienced enterprise cloud leader, to the Alfresco team as the new CEO to help us continue to take advantage of the tremendous growth opportunity of the cloud for content management. Doug is based in Silicon Valley and Alfresco will be opening a Silicon Valley office.
Enterprise cloud is at a key tipping point where the largest enterprises in the world are moving applications to the cloud. Companies like SuccessFactors in HCM, Salesforce.com in CRM, NetSuite and Workday are all experiencing tremendous success. We are now starting to see demand for enterprise content management (ECM) use cases in the cloud from case management to capture and workflow. Alfresco is perfectly positioned to be the enterprise cloud leader for these ECM use cases with our unique hybrid ECM model that eases the transition to cloud.
I am thrilled to pass the Alfresco torch to Doug and I couldn’t be more excited for the future of this great company.
